Olly the Oyster
After ten years of working in a career of
marketing and desktop publishing, Elaine
decided it was time to raise a family and focus
on her writing. Since then, she has published
several stories in various children's magazines.
Olly the Oyster Cleans the Bay is her first book
and captures Elaine's passion for sea animals
as well as her love of educating children about
nature.
Elaine became inspired to write about oysters while taking an environmental
studies class at Washington College. She learned that sea animals actively clean
the sand and water and play a valuable role in the environment.
Elaine currently resides near Annapolis, Maryland with her family and is pursuing a
Master’s degree in Marketing. For more information about school visits and lesson
plans, see the Teachers' Resources page on this website.
